Application Procedures

Admission Packets

Admissions packets contain all the necessary forms needed to apply to
Towson Catholic High School.
They are available in the Admissions
Office or by contacting Mrs. Lisa Taylor, Director of Admissions at
410-427-4927.

 8th Grade Catholic School Student Admission Procedures

Catholic school students should request an Archdiocese Information Release Form from their current school and follow Archdiocesan guidelines.  Catholic school applicants must also complete a Towson Catholic application form. 

8th Grade Students From Public and Non-Catholic Private School Admission Procedures

Students from public and non-Catholic private school must complete the Towson Catholic application form. These students must also submit a Request for Records form to their current school to obtain required admission information.  A Teacher Recommendation Form must be completed by a current teacher or a principal as well.  Both forms are available in the insert section of the Towson Catholic admissions packet.

All applications must be submitted to Towson Catholic by the January 4, 2008 deadline. 

Shadow Days and Interviews

All prospective 8th grade students are encouraged to have a Shadow Day.   A shadow day gives an eighth grader the opportunity to spend an entire school day at Towson Catholic and experience a typical day for a freshman student.  It truly is the best way for a student to find their future high school.  Interviews will take place during the shadow visit.  Towson Catholic Student Ambassadors serve as welcoming hosts to all our visiting guests.  Please call Mrs. Taylor to schedule a shadow day 410-427-4927.

 

The High School Placement Test

All students applying for freshman admission are required to take an admission test. The results of this test are used in conjunction with elementary school records, interviews, and teacher recommendations for admission, placement, and scholarship decisions. 

The High School Placement test will be given at Towson Catholic High School on December 8, 2007 at 8:30 am.  

There is no need to register in advance.  Registration will take place 8:30 am on Dec. 8th.  Testing will begin at 9 a.m. and should last until noon. The testing fee is $30.00 cash.  The only materials needed are 2- #2 pencils.

 Decision letters will be mailed February 19, 2008. 

Registration

Registration Night will take place March 4, 2008 at 6:30pm.  A Non-refundable tuition deposit and registration fee is due at this time.  Course Selection, tuition arrangements, uniform orders, and health forms will be handled at this meeting.

Transfer Students

Transfer students must submit a Towson Catholic application and forward the Request for Records form to their current school. Transfer students are accepted on a rolling basis. 
 

Tuition and Fees
 

 

Tuition for the 2006-2007 school year is $8,500.  A $500 non-refundable fee, which includes a $100 registration fee and a $400 tuition deposit, is required at the time of registration.                     

First semester tuition and fees are due July 1, 2008.  Second semester fees due December 1, 2008.  Full/one payment and two payment plan are made directly to Towson Catholic.  10 monthly payments are made thru FACTS Tuition Management Co. by electronic withdrawal from savings or checking account.   Information pertaining to each plan may be obtained in the school financial office at 410-427-4902. 
 

Financial Aid
 

 

Towson Catholic offers a program of tuition assistance.  All financial aid is need-based.  Financial aid is available only to students enrolled at Towson Catholic High School by March 31st each year.  Student financial aid application forms are available from the admissions office or at Towson Catholic’s Open House.

This form must be completed and sent to the School and Student Service for Financial Aid (SSS) no later than January 4, 2008.  Towson Catholic’s SSS code # is 8396. Families seeking aid must submit the School and Student Service for Financial Aid (SSS) form each year to be considered for assistance.   

Late submissions may be ineligible for financial aid funds.  Financial aid is awarded each year and is subject to availability of funds.
 

Scholarships
 

 

Academic Scholarships will be awarded annually to incoming freshmen who have applied for admission to Towson Catholic by January 4th.  The Scholarship application form is located in the insert section of the admissions packet.  To apply for a scholarship, all students must write an essay and send a letter of recommendation from a middle school teacher or the principal of his/her school.  Catholic school students may use the Teacher Recommendation Form in the insert section of the admissions packet.  Grades, interviews, and standardized test scores will also be considered.  Scholarship Recipients will be announced by mail on the same date the decision letters are mailed, February 19, 2008.

Towson Catholic offers 8- $1,000 scholarships annually.  If the student maintains at least a 3.0 GPA, they will be awarded $1,000 each year at Towson Catholic totaling $4,000 in 4 years.

The Scholarship application deadline is January 4, 2008.

Towson Catholic does not offer or grant athletic scholarships. 

 Scholarships for 10th,11th, & 12thgrades

Upper class students are eligible for the Gilda Vitrano Memorial Scholarship, the Diane Sammis Scholarship.
