| Children's Liturgy of the Word |
Celebrated on Sundays, from September to May at the 10:00 and 11:30 a.m. Masses. The readings are from the Lectionary for Children, while an interactive homily helps the children to apply the living Word of God to their young lives. |
| Mass for New Parishioners |
This special Sunday Mass is celebrated and is followed by a reception. A letter of welcome from the pastor is sent to all new parishioners following their registration in the parish. Information regarding this special Mass is announced in the
bulletin and an invitation card is mailed to the homes of new parishioners. |
| First Holy Communion for Children |
The immediate preparation for the celebration of the Sacrament of Reconciliation is done within the family home, with additional input from the
parish staff. Parents of second graders (and older children who have not received the Sacrament) are invited to attend an evening meeting that will assist them in starting this program with their children. Textbooks and other helpful information will be provided. According to Archdiocesan guidelines, children who are preparing to celebrate their First
Holy Communion must be enrolled in either a Catholic school or the
parish's Primary School Religious Education Program both during the year of preparation as well as the year prior to preparation.
The Parent Meeting for the
sacramental preparation of First Holy Communion will be in January 2009.
Group celebrations for First
Eucharist will be on April 25, 2009 and May 2, 2009 at 10am the Church.
