STAND Update

Effective Immediately, if you were STAND trained in 2003, the VolunteerSelect Criminal History Screening portion of your file will need to be reprocessed in 2008.  This process has to be repeated every five years.  Please complete the VolunteerSelect Criminal History Screening Consent Form and mail or fax (410-427-4795) it to the Parish Office.  Forms may be obtained from the Parish Office, School Offices or by clicking the link below.  When the screening process is completed, a new STAND card will be issued to you.  This updated card is required for any volunteer service such as classroom parties, field trips or sports activities. Minor volunteers, 14-17 years old, do not receive VolunteerSelect Criminal History Screening.

Parish Moves Forward with the
“People Engagement” Process

A dedicated group of Immaculate parishioners have engaged in a process entitled Inviting, Welcoming, Engaging and Affirming. Working with a consulting company (the Institute for School and Parish Development) and the Archdiocese, the committee from our parish along with groups from nine other parishes in the Eastern Vicariate are participating
in a series of workshops that guide the process to continue building a strong faith community within the parish.

The committee’s direction will be guided by a series of efforts to collect input, ideas and recommendations from members of the parish. To collect this information, the committee will conduct a series of interviews with parish leaders, input sessions from randomly selected parishioners, and a parish-wide survey. All of this data will be used to identify a list of core challenges our parish faces when it comes to more actively
engaging our parishioners, and from those challenges, the committee will develop a plan to address specific needs.

We all are encouraged and excited about the prospects of this new opportunity for our parish and would welcome your thoughts on how we can better reach out, invite, involve and engage our parish community.
